The New Media Institute
Wednesday, February 18.
Organized by the National Black Programming Consortium

The National Black Programming Consortium and its National Minority Consortia partners are thrilled to launch the 4 Annual New Media Institute (NMI) at the IMA conference.  The NMI is a unique professional development program designed to introduce producers to the latest in digital media production, marketing and distribution.  This year’s Institute will focus on developing the mobile journalist.  In the Pre-conference sessions, participants will take part in the Beta-test of Mojoco.org, an original web project developed by NBPC. Mojoco.org is a public media collaboration site where mobile journalists can showcase their work, find and share public domain stock to improve their projects, share best practices, collaborate, and even brainstorm together on innovative future citizen media projects, all the while getting public feedback through ratings and comments. In the General Sessions, the NMI will be holding discussions to explore the growing influence of mobile journalists and the impact of crucial issues such as Net Neutrality.
